Scuba Diving Courses for Everyone

Scuba diving lessons are available for anyone 10 years old or older. The most trusted and professional scuba diving lessons, certified by PADI, are offered in Cayman. If you are a first-time diver, you would start with the Open Water Diver course. Refresher courses, advanced and specialty courses, such as PADI Advanced Open Water, EFR First Aid, Rescue Diver and PADI Scuba Tune-up, among others, are also available.

However, anyone interested in an introduction to diving without investing in the full-time diving course can sign up for the Discover Scuba Diving program. This course teaches the basics of scuba diving and explains the equipment before you get into a swimming pool to use what you have learned. Then your instructor will take you  to a  shallow coral reef for a 30-minute dive to 40 feet.

For children ages 8 and 9, Bubble Maker, a 45-minute PADI pool dive program, is the perfect way to get acquainted with scuba diving. The course teaches scuba techniques in the shallow end of a swimming pool with a maximum depth of 6 feet, offering a safe and fun experience for the children.

Introductory courses are divided into three segments – theory, shallow water skills and open water. While the latter two practical segments take place solely under the instructor’s guidance, the theory part is flexible. It can be completed before you come on island with an eLearning course, or you can attend class once you arrive. Choosing the eLearning option lets you get the theory part out of the way so that you won’t have to spend any time in a classroom during your time in Cayman.

With instructors who are passionate about scuba diving and familiar with every dive site, you will get to experience the best diving in the Cayman Islands. They will offer comprehensive training, all-inclusive dive packages and expertise in responding to any questions or concerns you might have.

If you are not bringing your own equipment, you can rent equipment from the company where you are taking your course, or from one of the many dive shops in Grand Cayman. It is important to get quality equipment to ensure your safety during the dive.

You will definitely have an amazing underwater experience whether it is your first dive or you are returning again to explore the vast beauty of the Caribbean Sea. Plan your unique and memorable dive today!
